CHARITY GETS CLEAR MARKETING ON SIDE

Published 12.06.08

Clear Marketing Communications, the Manchester based strategic marketing company, has created a stunning new brand identity for OnSide, an exciting new North West charity that will provide facilities and opportunities for young people.

A new logo and strapline – always there for young people, brochure, leaflets and other marketing / fund raising collateral have been created by Clear’s award winning design team to help to promote the charity and raise much needed funds to drive the scheme forward.

Clear Managing Director, Jim Smith has also joined the charity’s board as head of marketing.

OnSide’s initial aim is to create five purpose built youth facilities across the North West that will be modelled on the much admired Bolton Lads and Girls Club, which is currently used by 3,500 young people a week. Plans for OnSide Youth Centres are currently being developed in Blackburn, Oldham and Carlisle.

The charity brings together local authorities, volunteers and leading North West businesses. Jim Smith will work alongside fellow board members including Bill Holroyd (chairman), Ross Warburton, Nick Hopkinson, Virginia Halliwell, Chris Oglesby, William Lees-Jones and Margaret Preston to promote the new initiative. OnSide is headed by Jeremy Glover, chief executive of The Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Jim Smith said: “This is hugely exciting scheme to be involved in. OnSide provides a much more realistic answer to anti-social behaviour than ASBOs by offering a range of activities and services in purpose built premises open seven days a week. The brand identity and language used has been designed to appeal to club members as well as communicate what the scheme is about. The marketing campaign will focus on raising awareness of the scheme, to gain supporters and raise much needed funds. We need £300,000 for the first three years.

“The success of Bolton’s Lads and Girls Club has been based on a successful partnership between local councils, Primary Care Trusts, volunteers, funding bodies and the private sector. We are keen to get more local businesses and key individuals from the region involved in this worthwhile scheme. Any business or individual interested in becoming a supporter can call Virginia Halliwell on 01204 540103.”

Clear already produces award winning for its other nominated charity ASH, a public health charity campaigning to eliminate the harm caused by Tobacco. For more information visit www.clearmarketing.co.uk

Clear has donated all marketing design and print to OnSide.

The Government has signalled its support for youth projects, which achieve success through partnership, co-funding arrangements and long-term sustainable support from the private sector. OnSide clearly aligns with this policy. Effective partnership arrangements have been established with key stakeholders in the targeted towns, including the local councils, the private sector, Primary Care Trusts, third sector organisations and a range of local, regional and national funding bodies. OnSide supporters include Clear Marketing, Eversheds, Credit Suisse, NWDA, Tom Bloxham, Brendan Flood and The Stoller Foundation.
