CUBE Open: Call for Submissions

CUBE’s annual open submission exhibition.

Following on from the success of last year’s OPEN exhibition CUBE is delighted to be hosting the 2nd OPEN submission exhibition. CUBE received over 250 entries. Paul Harfleet and Hilary Jack from apartment selected fourteen works that explored the Urban Built Environment – in it’s broadest sense.

Each year a selection panel from the fields of Architecture and Art is invited to shortlist engaging projects from entrants to the OPEN. Those on the selecting panel this year are:

Juneau Projects Lucienne Cole Kwong Lee (director Castlefield Gallery)

Selected entrants will be exhibited in the gallery and three prize winners will be chosen by the selectors for excellence in the execution of their project. The overall winner will have the opportunity to be resident at CUBE gallery for a two month period and will receive a £1,000 bursary.

Submission Deadline: 9th July 2008

Applications are welcome from any creative disciplines. Please submit your work including their dimensions and a brief statement of how you feel your practice relates to the urban built environment to ‘CUBE OPEN’.

To apply please send a CD rom with a selection of work (no more than six images) please ensure that it is a standard package such as powerpoint, or standard image files, such as jpegs. If we cannot open you files your application will not be accepted.

For video submissions please send a DVD accessible by menu. Please do not send exhibition versions, which cannot be navigated.

A ten pound submission fee is required for any application. Please send cheques or postal orders payable to the University of Salford to:
