Do you Yuuguu?

The creators of web gadget Yuuguu have found themselves rubbing shoulders with internet giants Google in the final of this year’s Webware 100 Awards.
Yuuguu, a neat tool that lets you work remotely with your clients or colleagues and view & share each other’s computer screens in real time, is one of just 300 applications to make it to the prestigious shortlist.
“We beat nearly 5,000 other companies to get nominated!” explained Anish Kapoor, who co-founded Yuuguu with Philip Hemsted in September last year.“Since our launch we’ve seen our user base grow exponentially all over the world. CNET gave us a great review. They obviously remembered us fondly – it was their nominating committee that decided we should get the nod.”
Each year Webware.com (a site all about new and useful web applications) collects nominations from users for 10 categories including ‘Video’, ‘Search’ and ‘Communication’. Among the 30 applications joining Yuuguu in the ‘Productivity’ category are Google Calendar, Google Docs and Basecamp. Anish isn’t deterred to be battling it out with the big names: “To be in the company of Google is just amazing. It speaks volumes for what our development team have achieved with limited resources and a short space of time,” he said.
The winners will be announced at the end of April.
