Sun Awards - call for entries

Closing date: 30.06.08

From its start as an adhoc exhibition in a former fire station to a highly respected and firmly established event on the photographic calendar, SUN has come a long way in twenty years. So have its photographers, both emerging and established, "who constantly raise the bar on quality" - Jon Cohen (Fuji Film)

SUN...highlights the best images and best practice achieved by professional photographers based in the northern regions of the UK, working within the areas of » Advertising · Design · Editorial · Fashion

" It's hard to believe SUN has been going for almost twenty years. One of my images was in the very first exhibition and here we are two decades on running the show and making sure regional photographers get the attention they deserve. This year's Awards promise to be very special" said organiser Ed Horwich.

What the art directors say: "SUN is a good thing because... its an independent showcase run by photographers outside London, which I think is a very honourable." Andy Cheetham (creative director CheethamBell JWT)

What the Photographers say: "SUN really promotes work in the regions, which can be overlooked by agencies in the south and its run by photographers, its a really great initiative." - Jon Boyes (past Best Image winner)

Judging Panel: A very eminent judging panel has been lined up which includes leading photographers Brian Griffin and Martin Evening.
