VOLUNTEER AT THE MODERNIST & THE MODERNIST POP-UP SHOP

The moderrnist magazine is looking for volunteers to who have some time and skills to share to help run the new magazine and associated ‘artist/design’ shop?

In June 2011 we launched the modernist, a new quarterly publication for the NW of England focusing on the architecture of the 20th Century. We are looking for motivated volunteers to support us with preparing and marketing the publication, for 1 or 2 days a week (days are flexible). the modernist is based in central Salford, close to Manchester City Centre. We are also looking for people to assist running our modernist pop up shop – an artist led inititiative featuring arist made prints, designs, books, posters etc.

The volunteers will mainly be working on promoting the magazine to potential customers, to outlets and advertisers. The volunteers will also assist in launching and running the modernist pop up shop – opening throughout December 2011, as part of Salford’s ‘Sights from the Other City’ artists studio event.

The volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about the wider work of the manchester modernist society in championing 20thC architecture in the region (including their event programme, tours, talks and artist commissions).

The manchester modernist society is looking for volunteers who are interested in design/architectural heritage, marketing/publishing.

This opportunity would suit people interested in architecture, publishing, design & graphics.
