The British Council are looking for the UK’ s Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur 2009.

This is the first time we have run this award in the UK but like the others it set to champion young entrepreneurs working within the creative industries.

To be eligible for the award, they must be aged between 25 and 35, have at least three years of industry experience and be resident in the UK.

Applicants can be from all sectors of the performing arts industry including producers, promoters, managers and PR’s. They needn’t run their own business as long as they can demonstrate their entrepreneurialism within an organisation and applications are welcome from those successful social or not?for?profit enterprises in this sector.

Six finalists will be selected to travel to India towards the end of May 09 to take part in a tailored tour of their performing arts industry to meet their peers and industry leaders to find out how business is done there. On their return they will compete for the award and a financial prize of £5,000 to be spent a joint project with the UK and India.

The deadline for applications is Monday 2 March 2009. For more information please visit www.creativeconomy.org.uk/ukypa09
