Submit your idea to Sheffield Doc/Fest MeetMarket

Sheffield Doc/Fest wants your documentary pitches for MeetMarket at the 2012 festival, 13th-17th June. Applications are open online until 29th March.
MeetMarket at Sheffield Doc/Fest is a unique pitching initiative which uses online systems to matchmake documentary and interactive media makers’ most innovative project ideas with UK and international decision makers for one-to-one meetings in a fully supportive environment.
Submit your project online, along with one-page treatments and a one-minute teaser clip, in advance of Doc/Fest, allowing decision makers to view your submissions of innovative documentary ideas. The application process is fully online.
Selected projects have project information and trailer available on our (password protected) website for the buyers, funders, mentors and other executives to review before the MeetMarket.
From this, they select which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket.
For detailed step-by-step tips for applying, to see what we’re looking for and how MeetMarket works, more information on MeetMarket 2011 and to see those who were selected to pitch, go here.
MeetMarket is for documentary, factual media, and interactive projects in development, production or post-production with international appeal. Projects do not need to have any financing already secured and can be at any stage from early development to near to rough cut. Producers can be from anywhere in the world and we welcome international submissions.
Projects can also be in any genre or format of documentary/factual, from factual entertainment through to art/installation documentaries. Cross-platform projects are especially welcome and those seeking alternative funding/distribution strategies. MeetMarket features many decision-makers devoted to interactive media and the new world of factual funding, distribution, and exhibition. The MeetMarket form for 2012 has been updated to allow more space for describing interactive and cross platform elements, outreach strategies and innovative distribution/exhibition plans.
How to apply for MeetMarket
Applying to MeetMarket includes an administration fee of £20 plus VAT per project.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday March 29th and late applications will not be considered.
Please make sure you are logged in to your My Doc/Fest account before starting a MeetMarket submission.
You can only have one submission open at once – you need to complete and submit one project, and then start the next one. If you try to do two at once, the system will not work properly.
