Ralli is strengthening its media department with the appointment of a new partner.

Keith Arrowsmith, who was previously a partner at London firm Sprecher Grier Halberstam, specialises in intellectual property and media law.

He works on the creation, evaluation, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights. He understands the value of an organisation’s brand, and enjoys helping to apply the fast changing rules and regulations to a client’s complex requirements. He leads a team that is experienced in dealing with copyright infringements, trademark abuse, domain name disputes and claims following damage to reputation. He also advises on licensing and the transfer of ownership, including the sale and purchase of intellectual property on insolvency.

With a strong reputation in the digital, arts, entertainment, heritage and creative sectors, Keith brings significant international experience and contacts to the firm.

Awarded Mentor of the Year for Connect Yorkshire in 2009, he is looking forward to working closely with the well regarded business law team.

“My experience in the arts will be an asset as we continue to grow our presence in this sector. Our proximity to MediaCityUK is an advantage and I will certainly be exploring opportunities there. I also look forward to working with not-for-profit organisations and clients in the high-tech industries.

“The sports sector is a growing market for legal professionals and I will be dedicating time to helping grow our sector experience in this arena.”

Keith regularly speaks at events, and is an associate lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University. He is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and the Theatrical Management Association.

With an interest in performing arts – both on and off stage – Keith is also a board member of Danceworks UK, the Creative Industries Development Agency and the Children’s Media Conference.
