Let's Get Ready To Rumble!™

Manchester-based creative agency Just Good Ideas, in partnership with a group of Design Futures students from Salford University are celebrating a heavyweight intellectual property agreement.
To help promote ‘Go Hungry’ – a charity fundraising initiative that invites people to skip lunch for just one day and donate the money they would’ve spent to help feed thousands of homeless people across Manchester & Salford – their campaign features the line ’Let’s Get Ready To Rumble!’
However, the phrase made famous by the legendary American ring announcer Michael Buffer, is trademark protected.
Adrian Bentley, Creative Director at Just Good Ideas commented, “Let’s get Ready To Rumble is perfect for Go Hungry, but we weren’t prepared to infringe Michael Buffer’s IP. So we approached his people for permission to use it and were thrilled by their swift and positive response.”
Bruce Buffer, President & CEO of Buffer Enterprises Inc. commented “We don’t usually grant usage rights for LGRTR but we like the cause and are happy to do so under these extraordinary circumstances. We wish the organisers of Go Hungry every success.”
Salford University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Martin Hall, is also backing the campaign. “We are situated in the heart of the community and should play our part as an active member of that community,” he said. “What these students are doing is a practical demonstration of our commitment to being a caring and compassionate University. I commend their actions and urge everyone to get involved.”
