2010 sees the eagerly anticipated return of Kinofilm, Manchester’s only short film festival to embrace all genres. But, we need your help!

After three years away from your screens, Kinofilm is back with the 11th edition of the festival – Kinofilm Manchester European Short Film Festival, taking place in various venues across Manchester 28 April – 2 May 2010.

Having secured some funding from Northwest Vision and Media, Kinofilm is now on the hunt for sponsorship and support from the businesses and brands of the region, and beyond, to help put Manchester back on the map as an International Short Film Festival destination.

Are you a company looking to raise your profile within the North West? Are you a business looking to promote to a new audience? If the answer is YES, Kinofilm would like to hear from you.

Festival Director, John Wojowski, says: "We have been working hard behind the scenes for the last 12 months to get the festival back up and running. The film community in Manchester and the North West has grown considerably since the last festival in 2006 and there’s great anticipation about the return of Kino. 2010 is an exciting year, and we hope that the region’s business community can join us to make the festival a huge success”

Reach new audiences

This year sees Kinofilm reach new audiences, working with the Polish community and bringing a Polish cinema strand to the festival, in partnership with the Polish Film School in Lodz, the Polish Cultural Institute in London and the Krakow Short Film Festival.

Another festival first is Transitions – a special showcase of debut features from UK and European filmmakers who have recently made the transition from short film to feature, or from those directors that have moved into features from other art forms.

Media City UK

As Media City UK takes shape, and with the BBC’s move to Salford imminent, there has never been a better time to get involved with the region’s film industry. These are exciting years ahead, and we want you to be part of them.
