INAUGURAL AAF DAVID BELL AWARD FOR INDUSTRY SERVICE DEBUTS; GYRO NEW YORK PRESIDENT KEITH TURCO ELECTED TO AAF NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS

NEW YORK [APRIL 2014] – gyro leadership received two special honors from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) during last week’s prestigious Advertising Hall of Fame ceremonies.

One of the centerpieces of the evening was the inaugural David Bell Award for Industry Service named in honor of gyro Chairman David Bell (Hall of Fame Class of 2007). The award was introduced to recognize extraordinary and unique contributions and service to the advertising community and industry as a whole. Bell presented this first honor posthumously to The Martin Agency’s legendary Mike Hughes (1948-2013).

Prior to becoming Chairman of gyro, Bell served as CEO of three of the largest industry companies – Bozell Worldwide, True North Communications and The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. He is the only industry executive ever to lead all industry associations – The American Association of Advertising Agencies, the American Advertising Federation, The Ad Council, and The Advertising Educational Foundation. Bell was a senior advisor to Google from 2006 to 2009 and is currently a senior advisor to AOL for its comeback.

Earlier in the evening, gyro New York President Keith Turco was officially appointed to the AAF National Board of Directors. Turco has been at the helm of gyro’s rapidly expanding New York office since 2010. Under his watch, gyro New York has more than tripled in size adding several A-list and Fortune 100 clients.

Prior to joining gyro, he was head of corporate marketing for CA Technologies, following a lengthy stint as senior partner and worldwide group account director at OgilvyOne Worldwide.
