Ric Frankland (Director of Dwelle) said:
“We are so proud to have won these awards for our design, particularly in the Best Eco Design and most Innovative Design categories, two areas that we are particularly keen to excel in.
“It’s extremely difficult times in the construction industry at the moment, but it presents a great opportunity to focus on design improvements and establishing new directions. Although dwelle came about as a result of the recession, our success in winning awards is now resulting in a successful business and continuing advances in design.
“It’s also great to see so much strong design coming from the North and for it to be recognised and celebrated; the evening was certainly one of the best awards events we’ve been to this year.”
Since being invited to present the prototype of “big dwelle.ing” for Grand Designs Live last year, Dwelle have received an enormous amount of interest in their new micro-building designs.
They’ve also recently won have won the British Homes Award for Small House of the Year 2010, and two architectural awards (from the MSA) for Best Residential Project and the People’s Choice Award.
