Dinosaur create buzz about the Hive

Dinosaur are creating a new look launch brochure for the Hive, an 80,000 sq ft office building in the heart of the Northern Quarter, with a long list of green credentials, making it one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the UK.

The stylish 32 page brochure has been designed as an advertising piece, with the feel of a contemporary art gallery catalogue, opposed to that of a traditional print brochure. Featuring stunning photography, it showcases the building’s striking architecture and impressive environmental features, which include a natural ventilation system, solar shading screens – helping to keep the building at a consistent optimum temperature – and green ‘sedum’ rooftops, all of which have enabled The Hive to achieve an impressive BREEAM Excellent rating.

The brochure has been created to coincide with the launch of The Hive, and will be available at the launch event as well as mailed out to key contacts. Rolled out alongside the brochure, will also be a new identity, press adverts and signage for the building, all created by Dinosaur.

Angela Fielding, Marketing Manager, The Hive comments,

“We’re really pleased to be working with Dinosaur on the new marketing material for The Hive. As it was Mark and his team who originally came up with the name and concept, we felt it appropriate that we continue the relationship and give them the opportunity to re-vamp the brand. The new look represents the building perfectly.”

Mark Beaumont, Creative Director at Dinosaur says,

“This project has been a joy to work on. We have let the design of this radical building lead the creative direction of the piece, with the photography setting the overall tone. We were fascinated by the idea of a ‘living’ building and hence developed the ‘Live and Breathe’ concept, presented via a ‘slab serif’ type face; the font itself serving as a window to reveal the building behind.”

Cahoona were tasked with providing Web Design and Development solutions to reflect the new branding Dinosaur have put in place. Given a creative challenge which allowed them to fully flex their web design muscles, they provided a simple design utilising the latest front-end techniques.
