The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair is calling for submissions. The brainchild of Angela Mann and Ann-Marie Franey – this brand new event will showcase some of the finest contemporary craft from the North.

The fair will feature over 100 of the most innovative and influential designer-makers in the UK – both established and emerging – and give them a platform to sell their work directly to the public. All work will be selected by an independent panel of craft experts, creating an inspiring mix of ceramics, jewellery, glass, wood, textiles, silver, metalwork, basketry, paper and more.

“The idea came from our love for contemporary craft,” Angela explained. “Being regular visitors to fairs such as Origin we constantly questioned why we always had to travel south for such events”.

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair will be held between 23rd-26th October 2008 at The Manchester Grammar School.

Exhibition stands are priced from £300 and shared applications are welcome. Deadline for submissions is 30th April.
