Are you an designer or maker wanting to exhibit in Manchester?

‘On The Wire’ is a new opportunity at Manchester Craft and Design Centre, which will allow a selection of artists to hang their work from a wire in the beautiful entrance area. This opportunity is open to any maker working in the UK in any material.

In May, Charlie Whinney brought us his fabulous steam-bent wooden sculpture, ‘Wood For The Trees’. We selected our first official ‘On The Wire’ artist Gemma Truman to fill the space with her fantastic ‘hung nests’ made from glass and seagrass. Lokesh Ghai’s wonderful stitched hangings, ‘No Messages’ currently occupy the space. If you think your work could follow Lokesh’s, and would like it to be seen by over 1000 visitors a week, then apply today.

The wire hangs approx. 19ft above the ground and runs approx. 19ft across; your piece does not need to completely fill this space. Please note visitors will need to walk freely underneath your creation without danger to themselves / without the potential to damage your artwork.
