alphabet of modernist manchester

The manchester modernist society have embarked on a project to create an alphabet of modern manchester. Two of the modernist society’s founder members, Jack Hale and Eddy Rhead will add a letter per week, building an A-Z from Aldine to Zochonis. “When we get to Z, we’ll just go back to the beginning and start all over again.”
The modernist society aim to create an accessible and entertaining introduction to the architecture of the 20th Century in Greater Manchester featuring some old favorites and some surprises along the way.
Already featured is Salford’s fabulously 60’s Aldine House on New Bailey Street and the sadly missed Bernard House (part of the Piccadilly Plaza complex and now demolished).
So, watch as the alphabet develops at modsoc’s A-Z
