2012 visitor season at Victoria Baths launches with new Wonder-made website
To coincide with the start of the 2012 visitor season Victoria Baths have launched their new website, designed and built by Wonder Associates. Since the successful development of a new visual identity for Victoria Baths in 2011, Wonder have continued to work closely with the Victoria Baths Trust in realising their strategy to attract wider audiences, and to clearly convey the range of uses for Manchester’s iconic Water Palace.
The new website has a brighter, more vibrant and modern approach, further presenting the dynamic nature of the Victoria Baths brand, and the experiences that it has to offer on a local, national and international scale. As well as communicating the progress of Britain’s best loved restoration project (as voted for on the BBC), the new website promotes a full and diverse what’s on programme of events and activities across the 2012 season which kicked off at the weekend (Sunday 1 April) with an Open Day and Vintage Fair with future planned events including fanzine conventions and even an indoor beach for families.
A rich tapestry of images ranging from historical references to modern-day snaps, share the stories of Victoria Baths online. Medals, costumes, documents and even Barry Gibb’s album cover are displayed in an online archive. The website also aims to drive support, presenting corporate and private hire possibilities, as well as volunteering, donation and fundraising opportunities.
The new Victoria Baths website is yet another strong example of Wonder’s digital design credentials and proprietary content management system MIYO. Wonder’s digital arm grows from strength to strength as the team at Wonder continue to position themselves as the full service agency of choice for arts, culture, heritage and leisure.
Rob Fowler, Creative Director at Wonder commented: ‘Victoria Baths is a jewel in Manchester’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. The new MIYO website, season print and visual identity created for Victoria Baths, demonstrates how Wonder can effectively support a charitable Trust in raising their marketing game to achieve their long-term goals. MIYO enables the Trust to quickly, easily and effectively ensure online content remains relevant, interesting and on-brand.’
Gill Wright, project manager at Victoria Baths commented: ‘We are thrilled to be launching our new website which brings our online presence into the new Victoria Baths brand. It is a big step forward for us as we implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the Baths in which, of course, digital marketing plays a really important part. We couldn’t be more pleased with the work Wonder have carried out for us – for the first time the multiple aspects of our offer to visitors, users and supporters are really clearly presented.’
