100% northern talent
A group of new and established businesses from the North West will be exhibiting this September at the prestigious international design trade show, 100% Design.
Design Initiative will once again be presenting the best design innovation from the region, with an exciting range of work from Claire Brooker, Burnt Toast, Freckle Designs, Hannah Tofalos Homeware, Ian McIntyre, James Roberts Design, RAW Studio Ltd, Ruth Moilliet, Sarah Thirlwell.
The 2007 stand highlights an eclectic mix of contemporary, conceptual products from digitally printed wallpaper and decorative friezes, ceramics that embrace individuality within repeatability, to the beauty of British wild flowers caught in layers of glass and coffee tables made with real coffee. The designers encompass a broad cross-section of styles, techniques and experience with inspirations that range from the functional to the playful.
Design Initiative will also be supporting two other businesses on their own stands at 100% Design – Jo Vincent Glass from Cumbria and Notarianni Glass based in Cheshire. Both businesses will benefit from financial support towards their stand costs, PR and marketing support and inclusion in Design Initiative’s promotional literature. It is particularly exciting to witness the progress of Notarianni Glass, a business exhibited by Design Initiative in 2005 and 2006 and now establishing their own presence at the show.
Commenting on the Design Initiative stand, Project Manager Frank Collins said, “Our latest collection brings together new designs from well-respected businesses with the best work from recent graduates. We are particularly pleased to be able provide a wider regional representation at this year’s show with designers from Preston, Chester, Bury and Bolton as well as Manchester.
“This truly embraces the North West’s reputation as a centre for creative excellence as we continue to build on the stunning achievements of shows at 100% Design since 2000. It is also an appropriate recognition of Design Initiative’s 15 years work in supporting and promoting the region’s exceptionally gifted designers, whose vision and originality are nothing short of world class.”
