Northwest Vision and Media, which works on behalf of the digital and creative industries in the region, has announced the third event of Transmissions series – “Device&Conquer: Tales from the front-line of mobile innovation”

Transmissions is a series of inspiring evening shows exploring innovation in the digital industry, with an interactive format that fuses keynotes, case-studies, discussions and hands-on tech demos.

The third event in the Transmissions series will continue the exploration of innovation in digital, focussing on mobile devices – the next frontier of connective technologies and the platform for the new decade.

Three leading exponents from the front-line of mobile development will be providing their take on the key innovations and the future shape of the platform from a technical, commercial and global perspective.

Quirksmode’s Peter-Paul Koch will be joining us straight from Amsterdam, kicking off proceedings by setting the scene of our mobile future. Matt Pollitt from UsTwo, the developers of the smash iPhone app MouthOff, will be sharing his experiences of creating (and selling!) software for the platform. Finally, Opera’s Chris Mills will close proceedings by talking about developing for Opera’s mobile browser.

As ever, the Madlab team will be providing live interactive demos of quirky technology to trigger some digital sparks over drinks and nibbles!

All-comers from across the digital industries are welcome – company leaders, coders, creatives, managers and freelancers alike.

The event takes place on Thursday 28th January from 5:45pm at Northwest Vision and Media’s brand new premises overlooking MediaCityUK at 100 Broadway, Salford.
