This month’s Trafford Artists Network meeting brings the chance to be at the forefront of the contemporary arts debate.
Creative Industries Trafford links up with Axis (the online resource for artists) to bring Café Artistique to Trafford – the first event of its kind in North West England. Café Artistique is all about lively conversation and inspirational debate about contemporary art.
Sally O’Reilly is a freelance writer and critic for Art Monthly, Frieze, Contemporary, Modern Painters, [an] and Time Out and has written numerous catalogues essays for exhibitions at international venues. She teaches regularly on the MFA at Newcastle, is a regular visiting tutor at Goldsmiths and delivers lectures at universities around the UK.
Sally is joined by Manchester-based artist and curator Hilary Jack who for the last three years has collaborated with artist/curator Paul Harfleet to develop a curatorial programme at Apartment. Hilary has recently curated projects at Cornerhouse, Manchester, Surface Gallery, Nottingham and at Axel Lapp Projects in East Berlin. Sally and Hilary will give a short presentation on a theme, which is then opened up to the floor for debate. Come along and have your say. The event is open to artists, curators, writers – anyone interested in contemporary art. A bar will be available at this event.
Tickets: Free. Open to all artists.
