There’s no either/or anymore – digital is part of our creative lives, creating new possibilities and opportunities. But does that mean pre-digital knowledge, expertise and aesthetics are redundant, or is something much more interesting happening as old and new come together in the mix?
This free event will see a panel of digital creatives share their experiences of the interplay between old and new, followed by an audience Q&A. The event will be introduced by Chris Sharratt, Editor of Creative Times, and chaired by Dominic Smith, Digital Project Manager at Tyneside Cinema. It promises to be a lively and thought-provoking celebration of the creative possibilities of new technologies.
Confirmed panelists:
Herb Kim, CEO Codeworks and Director, Thinking Digital conference.
Sarah Cook, co-founder and co-editor of CRUMB, the online resource for curators of new media art.
Will Schrimshaw, artist and researcher with an interest in sonic interaction and sound design.
Lalya Gaye and Joelle Bitton Lalya and Joelle recently collaborated on the Upstairs project at Tyneside Cinema and are research fellows at Culture Lab
