This special meeting of The Artists Network features Paulette Terry Brien, Co-Director of The International 3 Gallery in Manchester.
Paulette explains how galleries introduce new artists, price their work appropriately and then try to develop a market for a new artist.
This workshop will address issues faced by visual artists who are in need of advice in pricing their work – the tension between wanting to recoup the costs of time spent creating a work versus the need to appear affordable to art buyers and how does new talent emerge in a highly competitive market?
Paulette will provide insights into the workings of art market and explain how galleries approach the development of unknown artists.
