‘Teasel- The Art of Burlesque’ is a collection of twenty five limited edition framed giclee prints by Jayne Tunnicliffe is soon to feature at Broadstone Mill. The Cheadle Hulme based artist is perhaps better known for being an actress, most recently as Coronation Street’s Yana Lumb, worker in Wong’s chippy and best friend of Cilla Battersby Brown. Jayne’s latest set of burlesque themed art goes on show at an exhibition which opens on May 14th at The Gallery at Broadstone Mill. The preview will be taking place at 7.30-9.00pm with performances by burlesque dancers featuring throughout the evening.

With the Teasel collection Jayne’s intention was to show the fun, character, beauty and grace that burlesque performers can evoke: “Burlesque seems to appeal to as many women as it does to men, and that’s because it’s not just about the taking off, it’s about the putting on in the first place.”

Ahead of the event, you can find out more about Jayne’s burlesque art when she appears on the Paul O’Grady Show on Monday 11th May at 5pm on Channel 4.

We would love to see you at the event so come down to the Broadstone Mill Gallery. If you can’t make it on May 14th, the exhibition runs until Sunday June 14th.
