A guide to developing mutually beneficial partnerships between performing arts practitioners and venues.

Performing Arts Network and Development Agency (PANDA) have teamed up with The Bluecoat to deliver this free panel event aimed at any performing arts practitioners and venues in the North West that are interested in developing successful formal or informal partnerships, including residencies and associate artist schemes.

Join us at Liverpool’s creative hub, The Bluecoat on Thursday 9th December 2010 to hear from artists and venue representatives who have forged mutually beneficial relationships and will explain why and how you can do the same.

Vanessa Bartlett is currently the Interim Performance Programmer at The Bluecoat, a venue with a strong commitment to forming partnerships with artists and companies. Vanessa is also a practising artist, writer and curator with experience of working with various venues over the course of her freelance career.

Qasim Riza Shaheen is an established live art practitioner, writer and lecturer. Qasim has forged a number of partnerships with venues throughout his career. He is currently Artist in Residence at Fire Station in Dublin, has a long term affiliation with greenroom in Manchester where he is Associate Artist, and has been the International Resident Artist at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan.

Peter Ward is Director of Hope Street Ltd in Liverpool, an organisation dedicated to the development of artists, artforms and arts in the community; and also leads the Creative Organisations of Liverpool (COoL) collective. He is a theatre producer who for 20 years has delivered bespoke packages of mentoring and incubation support to assist the development of emerging theatre companies.

Mary Prestidge is a dancer, lecturer and co-founder of the radical X6 Dance Space and its successor Chisenhale Dance Space, in London. Mary is now part of Liverpool Improvision Collective, based at The Bluecoat, and works in partnership with the venue to deliver their dance programme.
