This seminar has been developed in partnership with the Manchester School of Art and will use as its focus the current Holden Gallery exhibition.
The aims of the day are to improve practice in art, craft and design; promote and enrich the cross-curricular nature of learning; explore how young people can be developed into reflective practitioners through the use of sketchbooks and journals.
Intended audience: A4 members, teachers of art and design and other subject disciplines in high schools and primary subject coordinators/TA’s

• Capturing the reflection
A presentation by a member of the JOE group ( journal or equivalent) from the Manchester School of Art , will contribute to the seminar by presenting the principles and practice that underpin the use and assessment of journals at Manchester School of Art. An undergraduate student will also share the development of her own journal practice. Participants are welcome to bring journal examples, but this is not compulsory. The presentations will inform discussion and debate throughout the day.
