“How to be discovered – using others to grow your reputation”

Design Initiative and Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company are delighted to invite you to their forthcoming PROSPER seminar event for designer-makers.

When running a sole creative business, with so much to do, your marketing can often be the thing to slip. You just don’t have time to be an on-the-road sales person. You know where you want your reputation to be but are just too busy to get there! This informal event will explore different proven effective techniques used by established industry professionals to stop you chasing customers but to bring your customers to you!

Speakers:

Claire Turner, Comme Ca Art “Help with creating and growing a reputation” Established in 1994, Comme Ca Art is the North West’s leading art and design agency, with over 800 artists and designers on its books.

Claire will explore the issues around how to sell yourself and your practice to achieve effective representation and what can be achieved by the relationship.

Rebecca Gouldson, Metal Smith “Being represented&winning awards”. Rebecca is an award-winning metal smith who is represented by galleries nationally and internationally.

Rebecca will explain the reality of working with someone else doing the hard sell for you! She will also share her experience of the value of winning high profile awards to the art buying public.

This event has been organised by Design Initiative in association with Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company and is targeted at designers working in fields such as jewellery design, ceramics, furniture, textiles and other crafts. There will be a Q&A session and chance to network with the other creatives after the main speakers. Light refreshments will be provided.
