Speakers include: Dave Carter – Head of Manchester Digital Development Agency Sue Woodward OBE – Sharp Project Director New East Manchester
Manchester has long been seen as an innovative city, positioned at the forefront of technology and culture in the UK. Once again it will be leading the way in 2010 as it starts to roll out fibre networks and advanced wireless technology.
Areas like the Corridor and east Manchester’s Sharp Project will deliver superfast broadband, allowing businesses to operate more efficiently, develop new and innovative business models and create applications that are only possible with fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology. Not only will this provide a competitve advantage for Manchester’s businesses, it will help to attract future investment to the city and encourage growth in the digital and technology sectors.
Whilst this is great news we should not be celebrating just yet. The rest of Europe has been delivering next generation broadband for years and we’ve fallen way behind pioneering cities like Amsterdam, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
This new Insider breakfast event will look at the huge impact next generation access technology will have upon Manchester. We will evaluate the good work that has already been done and see how the public and private sectors can work together to ensure we surpass our overseas counterparts.
If you would like to learn more about digital opportunities in the city and understand how they can help your business to grow then this event is for you.
Demand for this event is sure to be high and bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.
