KINO SHORTS is coordinated by Kinofilm, Manchester’s International Short Film Festival and one of the longest running short film agencies in the UK. Kino has been staging short film events from 1994 launching it’s annual film festival in 1995. Kino has a monthly North West Showcase event featuring mainly local short films, Q&A’s and Networking sessions, taking place every second Wed of the month, at the greenroom.
Introduction:
Kinofilm is our collaborating partner on TOAST LIVE 02 and presents the KINO SHORTS Room, a whole day of short film selected from Kino’s eclectic short film festival archive.
The days screening will be programmed in themed hourly programmes starting hourly from 3.00 through till 10.00. There’ll be a 10 minute break in between programmes, but the beauty of shorts means you don’t have to stay in for the whole programme (unless you want to of course), drop in and watch a short film or two at anytime of the day. Screening programme will be available on the day.

After the discussion and brief for the task ahead, we will be gathering the 15 photographers and pairing you into 5 groups of 3. All groups will undertake 5 subject matters to photograph and will be given a timed deadline in which to complete the project.
The venue, Antwerp Mansion is a unique run down ball room / conservative club with a great rustic surrounding, an ideal place to spark imagination for great images. We have selected objects and some interesting characters for you to work with on the day.
We feel this will give a chance for the like-minded and the not so like minded to work together in a great environment with some guidance from industry professionals. The best pictures will be hosted on Toast Lives website and featured at future events.
