Book groups and clubs are hugely popular but they’re not easy to run successfully without a professional leader. Jackie Wilkin is an experienced literature tutor and this course will translate her expertise into a model that any group of friends can use to set up or run a Book Group. As an example text, the course will use Kate Morton’s brilliant The Forgotten Garden (2008), a family secret story set across three generations. The day will cover: – Creating and running the group successfully – Tackling the books and managing discussion – Selecting and obtaining the books Please read before the course, and bring a copy with you, Kate Morton, The ForgottenGarden. Saturday 27th June 2009 from 10.00am – 4.00pm Fee £45 Course No:ID188S08
