Digital and creative companies in Cheshire and Warrington are being invited to find out how apprentices could benefit their business at an event organised by Vision+Media.
The evening event at Chester’s Grosvenor Hotel on Thursday 30th September, will explore how the newly established Advanced Apprenticeship programme could help creative and digital businesses in the region.
David Longworth, Head of Apprenticeships at Vision+Media comments: “Over 130,000 companies in the UK currently offer apprentice places because they understand the benefits that apprentices bring to their business – increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent workforce.
“Apprenticeships close skills gaps and attract new talent to the digital and creative sectors. They help to ensure that a workforce has the practical skills and qualifications an organisation needs to keep pace with the latest technology and working practices in the industry.
“This event is specifically aimed at businesses in Cheshire and Warrington, with the hope that they too can reap the rewards of hosting an apprentice at their company.”
According to the National Apprenticeship Service:
• 80% of employers who take on apprentices agree that they make their workplace more productive.
• 88% of employers who employ apprentices believe that Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.
• 83% of employers who employ apprentices rely on their Apprenticeships programme to provide the skilled workers that they need for the future.
• One in five employers are hiring more apprentices to help them through the tough economic climate.
The informal event will include presentations, the opportunity to network, food and drinks. Numbers are limited, so any digital and creative companies based in Cheshire or Warrington, who would like to attend must email: belindap@visionandmedia.co.uk.
