Kicking off Vision+Media’s season of activity is an event focussing on bridging the gap between digital and traditional media. Attendees will hear from the creative talent behind The Well, an award winning innovative collaboration between the BBC, Conker Media and Milky Tea.
A teen horror, part TV drama, part online game, the story of The Well unfolded across two platforms: after each TV episode, a new level of the online game was unlocked and if they choose to engage with both, the audience would get one step ahead of the drama.
Enda Carey, Sector Lead Digital and Games: “Commissioners want new, forward thinking production models, ideas that cross genres and grow audiences.
The purpose of this event is partly for attendees to see how story telling can play out across existing new and emerging platforms to capture and engage the audience, but also how vital collaboration is. The Well is an excellent example of this and the event will let other organisations benefit from their experience.
Part of Vision+Media’s brief is to facilitate collaboration and to encourage growth for SMEs in the North West and we have plenty of activity planned over the next few months designed to do just that.”
Attendees will also be able to hear more about the Digital Fiction Factory, a creative partnership between BBC and Conker Media, www.digitalfictionfactory.com
The event will be on 22nd June at Vision+Media’s offices 2pm – 4pm with networking afterwards.
