Spring Starts with Art at Woodend Mill. To celebrate the start of spring Woodend Artists are once again throwing open their studios to the public over the weekend of 27th and 28th March. Following the success of their previous events Woodend Artists are offering visitors to Woodend Mill the unique opportunity to explore their studios, talk to the artists and take part in demonstrations of the artistic skills. This year the groups are pleased to present some ‘new to the mill’ artists alongside all your old favorites and all showing their new spring 2010 collections. Activities taking place over the weekend will include an Art Treasure Hunt involving visitors in an exploration of the studios, artworks and the mill. Prizes for lucky hunters will include a signed limited edition print by Chris Cyprus and other artworks created by mill artists. Many artist will also be giving demonstrations and taster sessions of their artforms. Visitors will have the opportunity to try their hand at a range of art activities. For the urban artists SCAAD will be offering the chance to design and print your own street art stickers, Sue Platt will be demonstrating the more traditional skill of fine art print making. For those of a more sculptural bent mill Mel Roberts is offering drop in ceramics sessions and for the younger visitors there will be a kids creative corner. This year the groups are offering a 10% discount on purchase of any artwork on presentation of an Arts March flyer available by emailing the group.
